The symbols are in three different laguages. The first two are in Japanese, they say "earth" the middle two are in simplified chinese and say "kingdom" and the final two are in Korean, they say "warrior"
don't get mad if they're wrong, I just babel fished them! I was honestly just going to make up my own symbols, because I really don't think that the writing on Avatar TLA are specifically from any specific region. However, I decided to be SOME WHAT accurate, and use babel fish.
So, anyway, another super fun doodle of Toph, my favorite lady She's meant to be older in this picture, of course.
Dear anyone who likes this enough to fav it, Because I'm always hate it when I see that I've got a new comment, and it turns out to be a "thanks for the fav" I've decided that I will not be going to your page just to say "THANKS FO DA FAV!" this doesn't mean that I won't drop in to see anyone that has faved my art, nor does it mean that I don't appreciate it; I do! So I say here, THANK YOU FOR THE FAV!

According to the "Avatar Artbook" by Bryke, all writing is Chinese in the show. They even had a Chinese linguist as a consultant who did all the translations and would match the calligraphy and wording to what they were trying to do. For example, if it were a official decree from the Fire Lord, the script and language would be very formal. As opposed to a note or a letter which would be more casual.
Anyway, I love that you have Toph's hair up but in a less tight way. I always do like older Toph pics. She grows up to be very pretty.
I can see that she's your very favourite character! She's adorable in your style! She definitely looks much older here! I love her face a lot! >w< Great job!
